Roscoe Village

Roscoe Village is a quiet neighborhood in the North Side of Chicago, Illinois.  It is the perfect neighborhood for young families and professionals.  It is conveniently located near bigger neighborhoods like Lakeview and Lincoln Park and is given direct access to these neighborhoods’ restaurants, entertainment venues and shops.  Historically, Roscoe Village has been inhabited since the 18th century by the Fox Indians, taken over by immigrant farmers, turned into a gathering of glass greenhouses and today is home to over 6200 residents and takes pride in its ethnic and socio-economic diversity.

The largest concentration of antique stores in the Midwest could be found here in Roscoe Village.  It is known as the Antique Row, five blocks of antique shops along Belmont Avenue stretching from Damen to Western.  The variety of cuisines found in the area including Mediterranean, South American, Thai and Italian has formed a delightful culinary clique.  Roscoe Village caters to a mixed bag of shoppers with an array of booming businesses in clothing, artwork, music and real estate ventures and even a $15 haircut.  It is home to the historical Riverview Amusement Park.  One of Chicago’s largest street festivals, Retro on Roscoe is held during the summer and creates one big party of classic cars, cover bands and cold beers. The residences in Roscoe range from modern and vintage two- and three-flat buildings to single family homes and bungalows.  Transportation is answered by the Brown Line and the neighborhood’s several bus routes.  Traveling from Roscoe to the Loop, Chicago’s seat of government takes only 15 minutes via the Brown Line.
