South Loop Apartments

This growing neighborhood is in perfect proximity to Chicago’s best and finest.  It is just a few minutes away from the Loop, Chicago’s seat of government and close enough to Soldier Field, Grant Park and the lakefront, perfect destinations for leisure and relaxation.  It is bordered by Roosevelt Road in the north, Michigan Avenue in the East, 18th Avenue on the south and Union Avenue to the west.  It has become one of Chicago’s fastest growing neighborhoods.  Chicago’s most popular tourist spots are also found in this neighborhood, the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium.  The South Loop is a major factor in the city’s residential and business plans.  Young artists either live in or frequent this neighborhood because of the Columbia College and the School of Art Institute.  Five “L” lines and several bus stops course through the South Loop so private cars are rarely a necessity.

Housing options here include condominiums, lofts, single-family homes and townhomes. A decade ago, warehouses and parking lots took up most of the land in this part of the city.  In recent years however, because of saturation at the Loop, developers have been battling over prime real estate opportunities in the South Loop.  After almost 150 years of being largely industrial, it is now being ignored no more.  Cranes have become a common sight to tourists and residents and buildings and other high-rises are sprouting from every corner.  Buyers have unlimited options and residents could continue to expect greater change.  The historic row houses like Printer’s Row and Dearborn Park are part of this neighborhood’s residential development.
